Colt Second Generation Single Action Army NRA Centennial Revolver .357 Magnum 7.5" with Presentation Case

This Colt Second Generation Single Action Army NRA Centennial Revolver was produced in 1971 to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the National Rifle Association. Chambered in .357 Magnum and fitted with the classic 7 1/2-inch barrel, this revolver captures the traditional appearance of the Colt Peacemaker while incorporating commemorative markings and presentation features sought after by collectors.

The revolver retains approximately 97% of its original Colt blue finish with only minor handling wear present. The barrel and ejector rod housing show a few light marks, while the frame displays attractive swirls of original case-hardened color. There are also a few smooth gray-brown patina areas visible along the right side of the frame, adding character without heavily detracting from overall appearance. The smooth walnut grips with gold NRA medallions remain correctly numbered to the revolver and present beautifully.

Special features include the gold-filled “1871 NRA Centennial 1971” barrel inscription and the original walnut presentation case with NRA and Colt medallions and yellow velvet French-cut interior. Mechanically, the revolver functions, though the hammer partially drops from half-cock before engaging the quarter-cock notch and should be evaluated by a qualified gunsmith before regular firing. Included with the revolver is its original presentation case, which shows a noticeable lid crack but still displays well overall. This remains an attractive commemorative Colt package for collectors of Second Generation Single Action Army revolvers and NRA memorabilia.
